Семья иконописцев Алексей и Елена Сукневы — единственные в Иркутской области продолжатели локальной иконописной традиции в стиле «северное русское барокко». Данный стиль пришел в регион с покорителями Сибири в далеком 17-18 веке, которые строили и одновременно украшали местные храмы.

Guardians of Ancient Writing

The family of icon painters Alexey and Elena Sukneva are the only continuers of the local icon painting tradition in the «Northern Russian Baroque» style in the Irkutsk region. This style came to the region with the conquerors of Siberia back in the 17th and 18th centuries, who built and at the same time decorated local churches.
